Learn how to use overrides to control Monthly Giving Allocations for individuals and groups

Updated over a week ago

Overview

Peer-to-Peer giving is one of the most important features in Motivosity when it comes to building company user engagement and satisfaction. Special Giving Rules let you set different amounts for Peer-to-Peer giving by allowing you to go in-depth on who gets what each month.

Note: Monthly Giving Defaults are used to give everyone in the organization the same amount every month. This is the default when there is no rule in place. If an individual has at least one Special Giving Rule the rule will override the Monthly Giving Default.

Additional Information

Managers and Leaders

Managers and leaders come and go in the system or can be moved around within the organization. When this happens, the rules that apply to their direct report are automatically recalculated. In this case, Giving Balances may be reduced.

Negative Balances

Negative amounts can be applied to a Special Giving Rule. For example, if you have certain employees or a team that may need a smaller amount than others, you can use a negative number to reduce the amount that they are given.
