Adding a Goal
The next step is focusing on adding a Goal during a 1 on 1 meeting. If you're wanting to add a goal later on you can always head to your Motivosity profile > Goals tab to add more!
1. Please head to your Motivosityhome page and click on your 1 on 1 meeting in the 'Meetings' section:
2. Once you click on the 1 on 1 meeting on the right-hand side of the modal you'll find a 'Goals' tab. Click on this tab and you'll be prompted to the Goals section:
3. From here, you'll start adding a Title, Description, update the Due date and decide if this should be a Performance Goal. Please Note: Performances Goals when checked are required to be submitted by the end of the reporting period. In the example below we'll have a Goal that's due at the end of Q4 and we'll go ahead and click the blue checkmark button once finished.
4. Congratulations! You've added your first goal! You should now see the goal posted and your manager will be able to view this goal as well in the 1 on 1 meeting > Goals tab. See below:
After adding a goal you're probably wondering how you can edit a goal. Please click the three bullet list on the right-hand side and you'll find four options:
- Edit Goal
- Duplicate Goal
- + 1 on 1 agenda item
Tracking Goal Progress
During the work of achieving a professional or personal goal, it's natural to encounter challenges or being on track to accomplish such goals. To provide optimal assistance and support, our goals tab features goal progress and attainment. These tools are designed to gauge user's progress on goals, offering timely help when obstacles arise or acknowledging noteworthy accomplishments when they're on track. There are three progress indicators that we offer and they are:
- Not Started
- Need Help
- On Track
As a user you'll be able to edit these indicators and track how you're doing with a certain goal. For example Andy needs help getting started on when he'll have time to volunteer and needs advice:
The goal attainment feature is designed to acknowledge and applaud users for reaching significant milestones on progress with their attainment percentage and a gauge on how they're doing. As a user you'll be able to enter a percentage or use the icon and drag to a certain percentage as well.
Understanding the history of a goal is crucial for effective progress tracking and personalized support with your manager. Our platform's goal history feature is designed to provide users with a timeline, offering a detailed account of their progress towards achieving the goal. This feature serves as a valuable resource, enabling users to reflect on past milestones, challenges, and adjustments made, fostering a holistic approach to goal management. To see your goal history please click on the 'Goal History' button near the bottom of a goal. For example:
Adding a Note on a Goal
Adding notes to your goals is a powerful feature that adds depth and context to your progress tracking. These annotations serve as a personalized narrative, offering insights into your journey, challenges faced, and decisions made along the way. For example:
Flexibility is key in any goal-setting journey, and our platform recognizes that goals may evolve or change over time. Whether you've successfully achieved a goal or find that your focus has shifted, the completion and abandonment features are at your disposal.
Completing a Goal:
When you've successfully achieved a goal, celebrate your accomplishment by marking it as complete. Navigate to the goal section, locate the specific goal, and find the completion option. Completed goals contribute to a holistic view of your progress, showcasing your successes over time. You also have the ability to click 'Change Goal Result' and re-open the goal if you need.
Abandoning a Goal:
On the other hand, if you find that a goal is no longer relevant or in line with your current objectives, the option to abandon is available. This feature allows you to declutter your goal list and focus on pursuits that align more closely with your priorities. Abandoned goals are also documented in the goal history, providing a transparent record of your decision-making process.
