Use this list of articles to help you find more information about achievement awards:
Awards vs Achievement
Knowing what kind of award you want to create is going to be very important. Here is a quick breakdown of the two different kinds of awards you can create:
Achievements (this article): If you want to nudge your employees to DO something specific, then an Achievement based award is for you. These awards will show up on every user's profile.
Some common examples of Achievement-Based Awards would be Read the Culture Code Book, Write a Glass Door Review, Refer a Friend, etc.
Awards: If you are hoping to recognize one (or more) employees for doing something special, then the Recognition Award is the one for you. With this award a person who is in charge of the award will be prompted to give the award on a regular basis. These awards may accept nominations, and can be given out based on time-frames you choose.
Creating an Achievement Award
Achievements are a simple way to motivate your employees to take action on key company initiatives. To create an achievement, you must be logged in as an administrator. Navigate to the awards tab at the top or you can go to the admin setup/achievements page. When you click + New Achievement you will see the option to select and create the achievement award.
Questions to Consider:
How frequently should your employees be able to earn this achievement?
Do you want your employees to actively claim this achievement? Or will you be tracking this externally?
Do you want Motivosity Bucks tied to this achievement?
There are two places within Motivosity to create an achievement. You can either go to Setup > Achievements > + New Achievement
... or you can click on Awards at the top of the page then click create a new one from the Awards section by clicking '+ New award'
When you first open the awards page, you will see an invitation to start creating awards. If you are an admin when you click the link to create an award, you will see a dialog box like this, otherwise, you will start on the first page of creating an achievement award.
Using an Achievement Template
When creating an achievement, you will have the option to either choose from a set of pre-built achievement templates or create a new achievement from scratch. If you choose to utilize one of the templates, these come fully set up and ready for immediate use, making it easy to start allowing for employees to earn their achievements right away. Additionally, you can customize any of the template’s individual settings, such as the award name, description, frequency, and monetary value, to better fit your organization’s needs.
Manually Setting Up Your Achievement
If you choose to set up a new achievement from scratch, the first setup steps that you will go through will have you choosing from a gallery of Motivosity achievement icons to use as the display image for your achievement, or you can also upload custom image of your own. Start this process by clicking on the 'upload an icon' button above the icon gallery.
You can then enter the name of the achievement that will be visible to your employees, provide a brief description of what this achievement is, indicate the frequency at which it can be earned, and finally provide an optional external URL that will allow employees to link out to any other platform that may be necessary to use when completing their achievement, like your LMS platform, wellness platform, Sharepoint or any other place where an employee needs to take action to earn the award. URL entered must contain HTTP:// or HTTPS:// in the ULR. If you do include an external URL, you can also provide a name that URL, such as "Access LMS".
Achievement Reporting
How should your employees mark achievement complete? We give you a couple options first they can provide a response in the platform. Second, as an administrator if you are tracking the completion of this activity outside of the platform you can bulk upload the award to all those who completed it. You can also manually give these awards out as well. This gives you maximum opportunity to streamline the work flow for completing an achievement.
In addition to reporting an achievement as complete you have the option to provide instructions that will display when an employee marks the achievement complete. You can ask them to attach screen shots or documents on submission. All submissions will be available as an administrator for review and approval.
Money
If you attach money to the award, the dollars will need to be set up with the central budget. the field will appear that will allow you to control how much will be awarded. You can set up a budget amount and a frequency for that budget. You will also have the opportunity to attach a gift to the award.
If you have "Gifts" enabled, these can also be attached to the award. Simply select "Yes" and select which gift you would like associated with the award.
Award Controls
Here you will be able to limit which country/group/departments can receive these awards. You will also be able to control which users are allowed to manage/give these awards and if the award should be given publicly or privately. Choosing 'Inactive' will have this award not appear in any lists.
New achievement awards will show up at the top of the awards screen under Awards available to earn now.
Please note: For those with the Motivosity Spaces add-on, you can also tie the achievement award to a specific Space that’s been created.
Giving an Achievement Award
When it is time to give an award that you manage, simply click on awards at the top of the page, then look for the 'Awards' section.
If you would like to give a nomination based award, click 'Needs Action'. You can see more information about this here.
If you are the manger of the Achievement awards, click the 'Awards You Manage' tab.
From this page, you can select 'Give Now' to give this Achievement award out.
You can choose the employee(s) who should receive the award, type why they are getting the award, and you can even edit the default amount as long as you're staying within the budget set while creating the award.
