ThanksMatters Card Declined


Learn why your ThanksMatters card declined and how to prevent declined transactions for future use! The ThanksMatters card needs to have sufficient funds to cover the entire transaction.

There are several reasons the ThanksMatters card could decline:

  • Virtual or Physical ThanksMatters card is inactive

  • Insufficient Funds in Motivosity

  • Merchant does not accept VISA

  • Entered wrong ZIP code

  • Pre-Fund Account Balance too low (Funding Issue with your Company)

  • Transferring funds (Payment Platform, Cryptocurrency)

  • High risk transaction

If your card is declined due to the card being inactive, you can head to your Motivosity homepage and activate your card on the left-hand side!

There are several reasons the ThanksMatters card could decline:

  • Incorrect Billing Address or ZIP Code entered

  • Insufficient Funds

  • Merchant does not accept VISA

  • Details of the Card entered incorrectly (Card Number, Expiration Date, and Security Code)

  • Cryptocurrency Applications (Not Accepted)

  • High risk transaction


Notifications


When a transaction is declined by the card processor due to high risk a text notification will be sent to the phone number associated with your profile. That text will allow you to authorize the retailer and you can then try your card again.

Other transaction declines and the reason for the decline are available when you download the Motivosity app and allow push notifications.
