How Do I Reset or Change My Password?

How to reset a forgotten Motivosity password, and how to change a password you already know.

This article is for companies that sign in to Motivosity directly. If you get redirected to another page when you sign in, your company uses Single Sign-On, and your password is reset on your company's own sign-in page rather than here.

Resetting a password you've forgotten

  1. Go to the Motivosity sign-in page, enter your username, and select Next.

Your username is most often your work email, but some companies use your phone number or payroll ID instead. Use whichever you normally sign in with.

  2. Select Forgot Password.

  3. Enter your username again and select Reset Password or Send Email. Which button you see depends on how your company is set up, so either is fine.

  4. Check your email for a reset link and select Reset Password in the message. Depending on your username, you may get a text message instead, in which case follow the link in the text to sign in.

  5. Enter your new password and select Reset Password. You'll be signed in to Motivosity.

Reset email not arriving, or link says it's expired? See Common Problems with Sign-in for the usual causes and fixes.

Changing a password you already know

If you can sign in and just want a different password, you don't need the reset flow.

  1. Select your profile picture in the upper right corner of the screen

  2. Select Change Password

A note on the 72-hour purchase hold

You may have heard that resetting a password blocks purchases for 72 hours. To be clear about when that applies:

  • Resetting your own password using the steps above does not trigger any hold. You can spend as normal.

  • The 72-hour hold applies only when an administrator resets your password for you. In that case purchases are blocked for 72 hours, inside and outside Motivosity.
