When you buy a digital rewards card in Motivosity, a code will pop up after clicking 'Buy Now'. You can use that code when you check out at that store just like any gift card.To use the reward, simply enter the code on the reward in the online gift redemption section of the applicable vendor.
If you do not receive your order e-mail, you can still find the code by going to the 'My History' tab. Click on 'Orders' in there you will find a list of all your past orders and their information.
There is special exception with the 'Prepaid Visa Card'. This card is not associated with an online vendor, so the location to redeem the code is https://www.prepaidcodecenter.com.
If you are an admin, there are two places to look.
The User's Profile - On the profile page, there is a tab called 'Receiving'. Admins have the ability to see the dollar amount of an appreciation in this tab. Normal users only have the ability to see dollar amounts for their own things.
The 'Individual Cash Received' Report - This report is located in the 'Insight' section of the application. You can pull this report for the date range of your choosing and it will break down who has received funds and for what. This report can be dowloaded to Excel.
The leaderboard points are generated as follows:
150pts for receiving a thanks or a badge
50pts for giving thanks
250pts for taking the satisfaction survey
The leaderboard updates once every 24hours. If you give a thanks today, the points will appear tomorrow.
A common question among companies trying to drive culture is around how much to give everybody for that monthly 'You can give' allotment.
The short answer is that you'll see definite improvement in morale and high user participation in Motivosity if you do at least $5 and couple that with access to the digital rewards (like the Amazon.com gift card).
We see companies doing from $0 to $50 for their people. Companies that do $0 still have an improvement over the status-quo, but do not see the same benefit as companies who back their committment to high-performance culture with a little money.
As you budget for this, keep in mind that typically about 80-85% of the allocation is actually given across the company. So, if you're Motivosity giving budget is $10,000 for the year, plan on $8,000 of that being used.
Q - Won't people just abuse the system by tading money with each other?
A - The vast majority of appreciations we see are heart-felt and honest. Remember, this is visible up the chain. When you can spot those who would be an anti-culture in your company, you can coach them better. Motivosity has tools such as the recognition graph that will help you spot people who trade money, or departments who are superficial.
Q - What if someone doesn't give all their money in a month?
A - It evaporates. There is no rollover month-to-month. The intent here is to create a cadence of regular daily appreciating happening throughout your company.
Q - Can we have an approval process for appreciations so things don't get out of hand?
A - Gen X management often worries about the various potential ways things can get out of hand. Our advice is to relax and smile - this is territory that might seem uncomfortable at first, but your culture comes from the top down - you need to set the example in this brave new world of millennial engagement. This means trust, relationships, community, and recognition. Requiring an approval for people to say thanks is an anti-culture. That said, if someone says something offensive, as an admin you have the ability to delete that recognition and rewind the flow of funds.
Everything interesting shows up in the home feed. Appreciations, Badges, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Goal completions, Personality results, Interests, and Profile changes.
To control the scope of what you see, choose from the scope drop-down on the upper-right of the list. The options are:
- Team - You, your direct reports, your peers, and your boss
- Extended Team - You, your boss, your peers, your direct reports, and their direct reports
- Department - Everyone in your department
- Company - Everyone in the company
When you say thanks to someone, your note appears in this feed.
In addition to appearing here, people will receive an email with this content based on their e-mail preferences for Motivosity.
The satisfaction survey will appear 3-4 times/year for each person in Motivosity.
In the survey there are 4 standard benchmark questions. These questions are common across all companies and are used for anonymous comparison reporting (e.g. How is my company doing vs other companies?)
Unless you choose to make your own survey by questions. For further assistance please go to this page.
The survey itself is anonymous and there is no way to know which user recorded what score. However, results are grouped by department. If there are fewer than three people in a department, the results are attributed to a department called 'General'.
The survey results can be viewed on the 'Satisfaction Survey' dashboard in the 'Insight' section of the application. By going to 'Insight' then under column 'Dashboards'. Then click on 'Employee Satisfaction'.
On the bottom of the employee satisfaction page it will show you how many people have participated in the survey. Make sure you have the correct time period you desire on the top right of the screen. (Where it says 'showing results for').
The points in the leaderboard come from user activity. 250 points for filling out the satisfaction survey, 150 points for receiving a recognition or a badge, 50 points for giving a recognition or a badge.
The leaderboard is just there to let you know who the star givers and receivers are in the organization. The points in the leaderboard are not reward dollars, they are just a measure of activity.
There are two sets of numbers in the leaderboard: Month-to-date and Year-to-date. They reset at the beginning of each month and year respectively.
If you would like to be able to see the top givers and receivers. Go to Insight then under 'Dashboards' click on 'Top Givers and Receivers'.
